Church communities in Belarus motivate people to ride bicycles

A special infrastructure for bicycles appears on church parishes in Belarus. On the parish of St. Nicolaus of Japan in Minsk was installed a first public bike repair station. The parish is trying to be ecologically friendly and motivate parishioners to come to the service on bikes.

Other parishes in Belarus will be also equipped with bicycle infrastructure until the end of 2019. For example, Lutheran parish in Grodno will have a bicycle parking, one more bike parking will be installed on the territory of Orthodox church in Bobruisk and Lauryshava Monastery.

All church communities applied for such infrastructure in frame of the international project “Development of urban cycling for public benefit in Belarus”. The project is being implemented by Center for environmental solutions and Minsk Cycling Community.
