ECEN in cooperation with Laudato Si' Research Institute invites you to join for some updates and inspiring sharing of best practices at the European seminar in Season of Creation.
European Christian Environmental Network (ECEN) has played an instrumental role in initiating and promoting the Season of Creation among European churches from the inception of the initiative. Following the papal encyclical letter Laudato Si’, the engagement of churches in the Feast and the larger Season of Creation has grown rapidly all over the world. The global ecumenical initiative of Season of Creation coordinates activities globally, including a celebration guide for Season of Creation prepared by the initiative and translated into several languages that is offered for a wide use to all.
A major recent development is the ecumenical process to elevate the September 1 observance from its current “world day of prayer” status to become a liturgical feast in the calendars of Western denominations. Given the profound theological foundations of the Feast of Creation, the time has come for it to be embedded in the liturgical life of our respective churches, rather than being an optional celebration. The webinar will be an opportunity to hear the latest updates of the promising initiative to take place next year, marking the great anniversary of the 1700 years of Nicaea next year.
ECEN continues to encourage actions of churches during the Season of Creation. At the same time ECEN offers a space for sharing of experience from different countries and churches, for mutual learning and for common prayer. The webinar is a contribution to Season of Creation 2024.
